How to Successfully Repoint Your Paving.
Failure of paving pointing not only creates trip hazards, but also risks complete failure of the paving, due to stress damage from traffic, plus water and salt ingress etc.
Repointing with cement-based, or vacuum-packed, ready-to-use compounds, both have serious limitations on their use and exposure:
Cement-based products should not be applied in wet conditions.
Vacuum packed jointing compounds cannot be cleaned by jet-washing.
Unfortunately, if these limitations are not followed there will be premature failure, and once again the joints will crack, break down, or be eroded and washed out.
