NCC Green Growth Remover is used to easily remove and clean the unsightly ‘green growths’ of algae, moss and other lower plant life from all types of external natural stone, reconstituted stone and concrete paved surfaces. The viscous formula of NCC Green Growth Remover clings to the hard mineral surfaces without attacking the substrate, where it strongly facilitates cleaning and removing dirt and grime as well as the often stubborn green and dark staining deposits from other plants and their leaves. This strong surface cleansing action also helps to visually improve and restore the natural stone and other hard landscaping surfaces.
Directions for use:
- Prior to treatment with NCC Green Growth Remover, any loose leaves, dust and built-up dirt and debris must be removed e.g. by thorough sweeping, and the paving surfaces must be completely dry before application.
- Carefully pour the undiluted solution of NCC Green Growth Remover as supplied, directly onto the surfaces and spread out evenly using a suitable sponge or brush, for larger areas a low pressure garden sprayer can also be used to apply the product, which must then still be ‘worked’ into the substrate with suitable brushes or sponges. Leave the product on the surfaces to act for a minimum of 1 hour.
- Apply a little clean water and agitate the surface with a stiff bristle brush or scarifying pad to help release the grime and growths, and then rinse the surfaces thoroughly with lots of clean water using a hose or jet wash. Sometimes deep and stubborn stains may take longer to remove and the NCC Green Growth Remover could require a longer time to work, in which case apply and leave the NCC Green Growth Remover to act on the surfaces overnight. Alternatively, if some residual stains remain after treatment, they will often fade and disappear after a few days, but If not, then once the areas are completely dry after a few days, repeat the application again.
Additional Protective Surface Treatment: The newly cleaned paving surfaces represent an opportunity to protect these against future growth and dirt pick-up, by sealing the surfaces with NCC Natural Stone Sealer or NCC Stone Sealer & Enhancer , as these will prevent moisture ingress to the surfaces and therefore this also prevents the ingress of moisture carried dirt and organic materials into the surface, thereby significantly reducing and further dirt build-up and significantly reducing any future growths, plus any future dirt or growths that settle on the surfaces, with be much easier to wash and rinse off to remove.
Note: Whilst the NCC Green Growth Remover can be used on all types of natural and reconstituted / concrete paving, we always suggest a test on a limited and inconspicuous area before the overall application.
